Zap Zap Zap - Waterside
A very chilled out, summery single from unsigned band Zap Zap Zap. 'I lost my way living the high life' ushers in a prolific chorus complete with vocal harmonies and mirthful keyboard lines. Listen and download here.

Endless High - Leave It All Behind
This Glasgow band have only been around a year but are already making waves with their self-released album 'Leave It All Behind'. Very nice indie/alternative stylings - there's nothing new here, but it's done well.

Tribes - We Were Children
Tribes lead singer Johnny Lloyd bursts into this raucous debut release with the explosively delivered opening line: 'It was a day like today/A Sunday afternoon', paving the way for the rest of this frenetic monster of a song. Currently touring with Two Door Cinema Club and Metronomy as part of the NME Awards Tour, Tribes are set for big things this year.

The Mexanines - Katie Callous
Another top quality band by way of West Yorkshire, The Mexanines present the riff-tastic Katie Callous, based around a fictional lady killer. Parts of the song have an early Kings of Leon-esque vibe to them: 'You better see it through/or Katie's gonna come for you'. Have a listen below.

Marsicans - Hands
Poppy-indie from a brilliant unsigned Leeds band. 'He 'ant got a chance probably/and he never will' has become a well serviced phrase around the Leeds music scene. If this isn't lodged in your head for the rest of the day, you're a soulless beast.

Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair
Brand new shit hot track from Sheffield's finest. 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair' is everything everybody expected and the logical progression from 2009's 'Humbug' - stomping and heavy with lyrical subtlety reminiscent of the last studio effort, whilst retaining the observational theme and tongue-in-cheek humour of the first two albums, particulary the second.
New album 'Suck It And See' is released June 6 worldwide.

Radiohead - Codex
Codex is one of the stand-out tracks on the new Radiohead record 'The King Of Limbs'. Cue a 'Nude' like vocal cutoff and piano reminiscent of 2001's 'Pyramid Song', Thom Yorke's strained vocals accentuate beautiful songwriting: 'Jump off the end/The water's clear/And innocent'.
The track is almost ominous with its dark, consistent keys and subtle, pacing drums. The underlying theme of nature on the album is present; a chorus of birds can be heard at the end of the song. Have a listen for yourself..

The Vaccines - If You Wanna
London alternative quartet The Vaccines have been creating quite a stir with their infused 50's rock & roll and 60's punk sound, forming midway through 2010 and already having slots with Arctic Monkeys and T In The Park to their name. The band gave fans a taster of their debut album 'What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?' on the Shockwaves NME tour throughout January and February following releases of singles 'Post Break-Up Sex' and 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)'
This week sees the surfacing of forthcoming single 'If You Wanna', a more dancier, upbeat number than 'Post Break-Up Sex' but retaining the same quirk and charm. The reverb-tinted guitar and percussion blend effortlessly to create a deep yet still spontaneous sound. Great stuff.
